Communication through art
Talking about climate change can be problematic even for the wiliest of wordsmiths. Nadine has a way of communicating the important rela tionships between humans and nature through creativity. Please meet Nadine Schmoll, …
a Meanjin/Brisbane artist and CoralWatch Ambassador whose multi-dis ciplinary practice bridges art and science in meaningful ways. Nadine’s thread of interest explores human, plant and animal interconnections through themes of symbiosis, resilience and community sustainability and how humans can learn from nature to create more mutually benefi cial relationships.
Speaking about mutually beneficial relationships, we asked Nadine what she enjoyed the most about being an Ambassador
“…possibly the best thing about being an ambassador, which I didn’t anticipate when I signed up, is connecting with other likeminded people who share my passion for the reef. I’ve made some beautiful friendships through being a CoralWatch Ambassador, and doing the program has given me access to a supportive community of people. It’s their support which keeps me motivated to continue taking action on climate change and our coral reefs.”
